Curriculum Vitae

Riccardo Zema achieved his BSc degree in Chemistry at University of Rome “la Sapienza”. In 2020 he concluded his studies at University of Padua following the Materials Science course with a thesis on synthesis and characterization of monolayer-functionalized spherical gold nanoparticles designed for NMR chemosensing. In 2021 he has been working as a post-graduated trainee at IQAC-CSIC in Barcelona. The project aimed to the synthesis of a plasmonic hybrid nanocomposite for phototherapy. Afterwards, he joined the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal, as a research fellow working on water remediation strategies in the Nanochemistry Group. He has gained experience in several fields of nanochemistry, nanotechnologies and on materials synthesis for various applications such as sensing, drug delivery and catalysis. In 2022, Riccardo joined the Nano4Light Group at the University of Perugia to start his research as a PhD student in Photo-induced Processes and Technologies.
