Extraction of bioactive compounds from natural biomass (marine algae) using modern techniques (ultrasounds, microwaves) considering the aspects of Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development.

Synthesis of lipid-based liquid crystalline nanocarriers (cubosomes, hexosomes) and encapsulation of compounds isolated from marine algae biomass for drug delivery.

Evaluation of the physicochemical properties of obtained nanosystems (including loading capacity, nanoparticles size, stability, surface morphology and internal structure).

Evaluation of biocompatibility, biological activity and effectiveness of the obtained nanoformulations for applications in the pharmaceutical industry (anti-cancer photodynamic therapy) based on in vitro tests.

2021-now: PhD student at University of Cagliari and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Cotutelle agreement) Project title: Development of active compounds from marine algae and their encapsulation in novel “soft” colloidal formulations.

2020-2021: Master’s degree in Biotechnology with specialization in Environmental Biotechnology at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology Thesis title: Eco-friendly technologies for the management of seaweed biomass for products useful for sustainable agriculture.

2016-2020: Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Biotechnology at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology Thesis title: The use of plants in biotechnology.
