Water Quality and Environmental Monitoring: Riverine and wastewater dynamics, nutrient pollution (NO₃⁻, PO₄³⁻), and turbidity (NTU).
Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) Characterization: Fluorescence spectroscopy, PARAFAC modeling, tryptophan-like and CDOM analysis.
Data Analysis and Statistical Modeling: ANOVA, ANCOVA, and time-series analysis of hydrological and environmental datasets.
Machine Learning and Prediction Methods: Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, and kernel-based approaches for water quality forecasting.
Hydrological and Anthropogenic Impacts: Assessing effects of sewage treatment plants, leakage, and land-use change on river ecosystems.
Mentored a Master’s student who successfully completed their degree in February 2025. Currently supervising a student project focused on applying machine learning methods to enhance the monitoring and prediction of riverine water quality parameters.
Educational background

2020.09 – Present Conducted field sampling for the River Glaven Conservation Project, providing evidence for environmental investment and advising Anglian Water on treatment improvements. Applied storm surge inundation modeling (Blue Kenue, Telemac-2D) to Immingham Harbour, predicting flood areas under sea-level rise. Developed MIKE SHE/MIKE 11 coupled hydrological models to assess climate change impacts on the Karup catchment, Denmark. Researched future climate change scenarios (SSP126, SSP245, SSP370, SSP585) and impacts of wildfires on ecosystems, vegetation, and carbon stocks.
Professional Experience
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Chongqing, China Data Analysis Intern, 2020.06 – 2020.08 Applied machine learning (neural networks, SVMs) and credit risk models (KMV, CreditMetrics) for corporate credit assessment. Conducted factor analysis (AHP) on loan terms and contract amounts; built Python simulations to support decision-making. Chongqing Zhongding Asset Appraisal Co., China Asset Valuation Assistant, 2019.07 – 2019.08 Assisted in asset and land valuation, compiled 19 appraisal reports, and verified legal documentation. Surveyed wastewater treatment plants, assessing infrastructure and compliance with treatment standards.
