July 1998: Master degree in Applied Genetics, University of Bologna, Italy (70 cum laude/70). Title: “Phosphoprotein 85 kDa (pp85) of human Herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7)”.

1998-1999: CSGI fellowship at the University of Bologna on “Development of water-in-oil macroemulsions sustain long-term viability of microbial cells”.

1995-2005: Studies and research activity at: Virology and Microbiology Laboratory, Dept. of Experimental Pathology (University of Bologna); Marjorie B. Kovler Viral Oncology Laboratories” (University of Chicago, Illinois, USA); Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory, IMBB (Heraklion, Crete, Greece).
