1986: Degree in Chemistry at the University of Pavia. Thesis on tetraaza macrocycles with coordinating dangling arms (supervisor: Luigi Fabbrizzi)

1990: PhD in Chemistry at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, on low valent group 4 organometallic compounds (supervisor: Fausto Calderazzo)

1991: technical assistant, University of Pavia, Department of General Chemistry

1994: researcher, University of Pavia, Department of General Chemistry

2010: associate professor, University of Pavia, Department of Chemistry

2017- present: full professor, University of Pavia, Department of Chemistry

Awards

2001: Medaglia Nasini prize from the Inorganic Division of the Italian Chemical Society, for the results in the inorganic supramolecular chemistry dedicated to sensors, molecular oriented movements and molecular devices
