1998: Degree in Chemistry at the University of Florence (110/110). Thesis title: "Synthesis and Physicochemical Characterisation of Ca(OH)2 Crystalline Nanoparticles. Applications in the Field of Wall Painting Consolidation".
1998-1999: Chemistry Department Assistant. Tutor for the first year Physical Chemistry course (Thermodynamics). University of Florence.
1999-2002: PhD in Chemistry at the University of Durham (UK). Title: "Glycopolymers: Synthesis, Properties and Applications". Advisor: Dr. N. R. Cameron (University of Florence); co-advisor: Dr. B. G. Davis (University of Oxford).
2002-2003: CSGI Fellowship (Dept. of Chemistry of the University of Florence). Title: “Structural and physico-chemical characterization of emulsions and microemulsions of biomass oils and synthesis of nanostructures”. Advisor: Prof. P. Baglioni.
2003-2005: Post-Doc at the CSGI and Dept. of Chemistry of the University of Florence. Title: “Study of nanophasic systems and of the effect of lyotropic agents”.
2005-present: Full-time Laboratory Assistant at the Dept. of Chemistry of the University of Florence.
Jul. 2009: Appointment as "Cultore della Materia", for CHIM/02, Corso di Laurea in Chimica, University of Florence.
2009-present: Reviewer for several international journals as Journals of Physica Chemistry and Journal of American Ceramic Society.
Sept.2010-Dec.2010: Secondment at Brussels Innovation Center (BIC), Procter & Gamble (Belgium), within the European Project “CAP-IT! Advanced encapsulation technology for sustainable detergency”, (Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP), from the Seventh Framework Program, FP7), which joins industrial and academic forces to reach a new and breakthrough level of sustainable detergency.
Sept.2011-Dec.2011: Secondment at Granutec (Germany), within the European Project “CAP-IT! Advanced encapsulation technology for sustainable detergency”(Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP), from the Seventh Framework Program, FP7), for the production of microcapsules by Fluid Bed Coating.
